The 12th Thessaloniki Book Fair invites new and older readers, publishers and writers, academics and professionals of the creative economy and all those who wish to explore their reading perspectives in a 4-day festival of the Book, the Arts and Culture.
Focusing on the dialogue, the co-creation, the interaction and the development of a dynamic community around the book that will spread the vision for a cultural uplift of our country, the TBF invites us all to meet and discuss with each other. More than 200 events, more than 180 Greek and 30 foreign writers, 210 publishers, 21 foreign countries, thousands of titles, literary meetings, presentations, round tables, meetings, speeches, workshops, projections, artistic and theatrical events, activities for children etc. create a panoramic program of events that constitutes a platform of circulation and exchange of ideas.
The Thessaloniki Book Fair –quite unique in its category in Greece– was inaugurated in May, 2004, with the aim to include Greece in the map of the international book fairs. Soon, it managed to emerge as a nodal axis of cultural and commercial exchanges between Europe, the Balkans, the Mediterranean and the Middle East.
Today, it constitutes one of the most important, cultural, internationally acknowledged institutions in the country and since 2006 it has been a member of the “International Book Fairs Club”, and it participates in the annual business meetings organized by the Frankfurt Book Fair.
