Focusing on the issue of post-war avant-garde art, the exhibition presents selected works and artists that determined the conditions of knowledge, of reality, of life, and therefore of culture and art. It draws from the donation of Magda Kotzia (1968-1973), the group of New Realists (1971-1973), but also individual artists who in the late 1960s and during the 1970s reshaped historical artistic reality: through their resistance, protest or critical distance from the most common stand against the reality of their time, through political practice and philosophical approach, the artists represented highlight the social and cultural dimension of art and guarantee their position as recognized symbols of the art of the era. The exhibition is organized in the frame of the symbolic exchange of works from the collections of the and the State Museum of Contemporary Art and the Macedonian Museum of Contmporary Art.
