Designing Creative Synergies is an interdisciplinary yearly conference, which aims to focus on issues related to design and creativity. Design gives Value! Wherever applied – designing a process, a product or a service – it builds power through consistency and awareness. Successful design is about narrating a story, verbally as well as visually. Regardless of the outcome itself and what are the key characteristics that make it unique, the added value lies on the way that the story is told. In this light, design, as a structured creative process, is a competitive tool of major importance for companies and entrepreneurs. Getting noticed is the key for success business stories.
In this context, local stakeholders from industry, businesses and academia, as well as policy makers will have the opportunity to meet and collaborate during the event with experienced, designers towards promoting international creative synergies. The organizers’ ambition is to open up the prospect of setting up a Forum for Creative Synergies to support the co-ordination of various relevant initiatives. This is the third conference of the “Designing Creative Synergies” series.
The conference will be hosted at the premises of the International Hellenic University on 21-22 March 2016 and the topic of this year’s conference will focus on Creative and Cultural Industries (CCI). The speakers include Christos Carras (Onassis Cultural Centre), Martin Kohler (HafenCity University Hamburg), Onur Ozkaya (Industrial Designer), Kostis Karatzas (The Greek Foundation), Konstantinos Bliatkas (Cultural Society of Entrepreneurs of Northern Greece), Nikolaos Efthymiadis (Chairman of the Business and Cultural Development Centre), Peter Panes (Director of the Goethe Institut Thessaloniki), Maria Tsantsanoglou (Director of the State Museum of Contemporary Art) and many more.
