Aleria restaurant is located in the upcoming Metaxourgeio area of Athens and offers a harmonious combination of an elegant and artistically designed decor with a cuisine that is world-class in its inventiveness and quality. The restaurant is a perfectly restored villa from the early years of the previous century. The decor strikes the perfect balance between luxury and ambience, creating an atmosphere which is quite formal but still unpretentious, cozy and elegant. Equally unique is also the space of the inner yard, where the restaurant is housed in the summer. The paved area provides the required privacy and relaxation, while still in the centre of Athens. Here, the unique tables featuring mosaic motives previously used on the floors of the original neoclassical building.

The restaurant’s creative cuisine has been awarded many times; chef Gikas Xenakis is one of the best proponents of the Greek Creative Cuisine movement which now attracts the most talented chefs in Greece. His philosophy is one that combines a calm but confident control of the modern cooking techniques with his memories of traditional home food cooked with the best and freshest ingredients that the sea and land of Greece offers. One of the signature dishes is the gourmet explosion of a seafood “mageiritsa”, which usually is a typical Easter Greek soup plate made by lamp inwards, the beef cheeks flavored with fennel and lemon.
