The unusually named Skiouros Winery [skiouros = squirrel] has added a label to their collection that depicts the trunk of the proud member of the Elephantidae family.
“They say an elephant never forgets. What they don’t tell you is, you never forget an elephant.” – Bill Murray
Skiouros Winery is headquartered in Thessaloniki but has vineyards in Amphipolis, in the Prefecture of Serres. Along with its own lands, it has permanent collaborations with local growers, but even so, the entire quantity bottled is very limited. Their mission is to discover and communicate with care and excitement the tiny secrets hidden in every magical drop of grape juice. And with Elephas, they indeed deliver an unforgettable experience. Our team was asked to design the bottle for the winery’s new, exotic label.
Elephas is a dry white wine with a citron tinge, with explosive lemon, mango, and pineapple aromas, balanced acidity, and a strong finish. It is an exceptionally well-made wine and is very representative of the true dedication of Skiouros Winery to wine-making.
All the elements (color, composition, style) of the bottle design for Elephas wine reference the noble proboscidean. Using a typographical device, the Greek letter «Φ» (=ph) is placed on top of the bottle’s stopper, at the tip of the neck, representing both visually and spatially the tip of the Elephant’s trunk.
