Threshold crafts a dynamic, interconnected apartment, challenging small-space living norms

The Violetta Apartment, a 25 sqm flat on the first floor, challenges the traditional notion of spatial limitations, offering a renovation that reimagines what it means to feel at home in a small space. Designed by Threshold, this project pushes the boundaries of comfort and functionality by turning the apartment into a carefully curated piece of furniture, where every element serves a dual purpose. At the heart of the design is a clever use of materials and space. The layout is conceptualized as a unified, cohesive whole where each component contributes to the greater scheme. Key features include the kitchen, which doubles as a corridor, and the backsplash, which functions as storage. An angled mirror serves as both a reflective surface and a visual connection to the outside world, amplifying natural light. The sleeping area is placed above the cooking space, defying traditional layouts and maximizing the available space. Prioritizing leisure over practicality, the design omits a washing machine in favor of a large console. Storage is cleverly integrated into shiny surfaces, making organization a key element of the living experience. Mirrors further expand the space, reflecting light and creating an illusion of depth.
