MATI Santorini
MATI is an art observatory located on the island of Santorini, Greece, exploring the human condition through the lenses of regional identity, artifacts and their meanings, built and natural environments, design experimentation, and artisan craftsmanship. Founded in 2024 within a historic 1900s canava—the Santorinian term for winery—MATI Mesaria is a contemporary art space that weaves together diverse cultural elements through art exhibitions, artist residencies, and curated art tours. The original MATI Fira, established in 1990 by artist Yorgos Kypris, serves as a contemporary showroom in the heart of Santorini. It features Kypris’ signature sea-inspired sculptures alongside a carefully curated selection of contemporary Greek designer jewelry, all paying tribute to the island’s rich artistic spirit.
