The only Greek festival exclusively devoted to comics, Comicdom Con Athens, opens its doors to the public for the 10th consecutive year.
International guests of this years’ festival include, the Eagle Award winner Irish artist Declan Shalvey whose work includes MOON KNIGHT, the French creator and co-founder of the independent publishing house L’Association, Patrice Killoffer, the Danish artist Peter Snejbjerg, famous for his work in series such as STARMAN and BOOKS OF MAGIC, the American Jordie Bellaire, colorist at HAWKEYE and THE MANHATTAN PROJECTS, the renowned Spanish creator of the award-winning graphic novel MARIA AND I, Miguel Gallardo, the Dutch creator of biographical comics, Barbara Stok, the American cartoonist Ulises Farinas known for his exquisitely detailed artwork and the acclaimed Polish creators Łukasz Mazur and Maciej Pałka.
Comicdom Con Athens, presents the exhibition “Great American Comics: Highlights from the Cartoon Art Museum’s Collection”, featuring some of the most influential American comics in the history of the medium. Additional Comicdom Con Athens 2014 features include film screenings, workshops for scriptwriting and illustrating, bazaar of Greek comics shops and publishers, a children’s program, the Greek Comics Awards – the only comics awards for Greek comic book creators – as well as the ever more popular Comicdom Cosplay contest which is the national qualifying competition for European cosplay championship, EuroCosplay 2014 at the London MCM EXPO!
