At the heart of the retreat’s estate lies the remarkable church of Agia Irini, -the oldest among the 23 churches scattered across Therasia- completed in 1867. Its presence forms the natural boundary of the retreat’s southern yard, creating a unique atmosphere.

It consists of three separate suites, each featuring a master bedroom and a private lounge. The suites at Santa Irini Retreat are named after three remarkable women: Margarita, Avgi, and Theodossia. Santa Irini Retreat is designed in the shape of the Greek capital letter “Î ”. This architectural motif not only provides shaded areas throughout the day but also shields guests from the meltemia, the dry northeastern winds of the Aegean. This way guests can bask in the spectacular view of the caldera and neighboring islands—Ios, Sikinos, and Folegandros—while feeling fully protected.
