Batard is a micro bakery in Pangrati, Athens, that treats breadmaking as both craft and ritual. Conceived as a space devoted to dough, memory and imperfection, it reimagines the traditional bakery as a living, breathing workshop. Inside, fermentation takes centre stage. Loaves are baked in small batches, the sourdough starter is fed daily, and the menu shifts with the pulse of the city. The menu features naturally leavened breads, buttery brioches, mini sandwiches, and viennoiseries, served with specialty coffee — all made with local, seasonal ingredients. Batard is a meeting point between food and urban culture. In its way, it attempts to reconnect Athens with the simple, timeless act of making and sharing bread.
