Federica Scalise designs bright apartment in Athens adding bold color accents

Architect Federica Scalise has transformed a 42 sqm unused office space into a bright apartment on the last floor of a 1970s building in Gyzi. All of the existing partition walls were demolished, exposing the concrete beam that splits the studio into two separate areas, giving a fluid continuous pattern that makes the space feel bigger. A deep blue curtain was installed functioning as a flexible element that divides the living area from the bedroom, offering privacy when necessary. A new curved wall was added to the existing toilet room to house the shower and bring natural light in. The linear multifunctional kitchen, which also doubles as storage space, stands out with its bold red color. The vibrant color palette gives an air of playfulness to the space, defining its diverse functions, while creating a contemporary and dynamic, yet soothing atmosphere.
