Glass blocks and red steel frame small-scale salon in Athens by KARN Studio

Exterior of MORROW studio with red steel façade and fluted glass panels

Athens studio KARN has completed MORROW, a 27.5-square-metre hair studio in Melissia that uses light, colour and precise detailing to amplify a compact interior. Fluted glass panels and glass blocks shape both the façade and internal partitions, filtering daylight into a soft, diffused glow. This controlled transparency enhances depth and atmosphere while maintaining privacy. A red steel frame defines the façade, paired with curved profiles and translucent blocks to form a bold identity. A pivoting window opens the studio to the street, while an integrated bench extends the interior outward and creates a casual place to pause. Inside, soft grey surfaces and an exposed cement ceiling establish a calm, cohesive palette. The layout is straightforward: full-height mirrors and black styling chairs line the main wall, maximising reflection and keeping circulation clear. Storage is integrated into tall cabinetry to preserve a clean visual field. Measured red accents appear throughout, echoing the exterior and injecting warmth into the muted interior. MORROW demonstrates how thoughtful materiality and controlled light can elevate a small footprint, creating a space that feels both minimal and characterful.
