Koukos de Lab has completed Sweat Pilates, a boutique reformer studio in Neo Psychiko, Athens, designed around simplicity and understated functionality. The project is the creative studio’s first built work, marking its transition from Lesvos-based practice to architectural debut. With only five reformer stations, the interior promotes focus and rhythm, merging Japanese minimalism with Scandinavian warmth under the clarity of Athenian light. Sliding oak partitions and translucent glass define reception, lounge, and training areas without imposing, evoking the rhythm of shoji screens while keeping a precise European character. Pale wood, travertine, linen, and raw timber define the restrained palette, while green accents introduce moments of vitality. Built-in furniture recedes into the architecture, supporting rather than dominating. Lighting is soft and deliberate, with pendants and ceiling fixtures creating a meditative atmosphere that frames movement as ritual. Koukos de Lab describes the project sets the tone for a practice rooted in responsiveness, where architecture adapts to everyday rituals and proves that simplicity itself can be a form of care.
