OFFICE MUTO has designed a house in Vigla’s landscape of raw simplicity, drawing inspiration from its traditional sheepfolds providing shelter from the winds. Using the courtyard to anchor the building while offering protection, this innovative approach expands the indoor space into a spacious and cost-effective outdoor oasis. Each element of the design connects seamlessly to the courtyard, eliminating unnecessary pathways. These simple rectangular volumes not only unite the building’s form but also frame stunning landscape views. The walls, constructed from locally sourced stones and complemented by concrete elements, create a harmonious mineral aesthetic that enhances the building’s horizontal flow and the unity of the courtyard.
