One of the oldest hotels in Mykonos has recently undergone a thoughtful transformation by Vilma Agrafioti Architects, balancing tradition with a clean, modern aesthetic. The exterior remains faithful to classic Cycladic architecture, with whitewashed forms and soft curves that echo the island’s architectural heritage. Inside, the design shifts to a more contemporary tone—simple, warm, and tactile. Natural marble, wood, and deep blue accents drawn from the Aegean set the tone for calm, understated interiors. Room layouts were reconfigured to make better use of space, with each room now enjoying uninterrupted sea views. Details such as handwoven textiles, cushions, and wall hangings pay tribute to traditional Mykonian craftsmanship, adding a layer of cultural depth to the minimalist palette. Rather than reinventing, the studio chose to refine, creating a hotel that feels both rooted and renewed. The result is a quiet, thoughtful update that honors the past while offering a fresh experience of Mykonos.
