The 1st Light Festival utilizes the potentials provided by the new technologies and media in art. From 29 to 31 December 2014, Ioannina will be filled with light after inviting artists from Greece and abroad to create art works in its heart, highlighting the landmarks, the areas of natural beauty as well as the historical shopping center of the city through utilizing the potentials provided by the new technologies and media in art.
The audience will be provided with the opportunity to follow a special designed route from the central square of the city to the picturesque area of Pamvotis Lake, gaining access to innovative contemporary art forms and techniques. The program includes: Video mappings with color and shapes interchange on building facades of unique architectural value, projections covering the blind facades of city buildings, light installations on outdoor spaces and colorful illuminations of city landmarks.
