Anemomilos Boutique Hotel in Folegandros is a family-run hotel that first opened its doors in 1993.
Dimitris Patelis, an ex constructor, first came to Folegandros as a visitor and fell in love with the island, the people and -most importantly- with that piece of land on the edge of the cliff of Hora, where the villages’ one and only windmill used to stand. This was the inspiration behind the name “Anemomilos”, Windmill.
Construction work took up almost 3 years, at a time when in Folegandros any large-scale building process was extremely difficult. Most of the work was done manually and almost every detail has been scrutinised by the personal care of Dimitris himself who literally lived on-site.
This year Anemomilos celebrates 28 years of operation.
