Yarn becomes a way of drawing, building and exploring texture in the work of 40Roomors, an artistic duo based between Thessaloniki and Litochoro. Founded in 2021 by Domniki Ntourou and Giannis Batsaras, the collective brings together two different creative backgrounds.

Domniki studied architecture at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, developing an interest in interiors and artistic expression, while Giannis comes from the world of graffiti, where space, colour and composition have long shaped his practice. Together, they work with tufting and the vertical loom to create textile pieces that sit somewhere between art and design.

Their tapestries, large-scale wall coverings and installations are defined by layered, raised surfaces and earthy colour palettes, often taking their cues from natural patterns and materials. Through different yarns, heights and textures, the duo recreates the appearance of surfaces found in nature, giving each work a tactile, almost sculptural quality. The result is a collection of pieces that invite a closer look, bringing depth, texture and a sense of the natural world into contemporary interiors.
