Based on the Cycladic island of Sifnos, ceramic artist Julie Tzanni Goldson creates sculptural stoneware vessels that reflect the rhythms of nature, the movement of the sea and the passage of time. Drawing on the islandโs long pottery tradition and the philosophy of wabi-sabi, her work embraces imperfection through tactile surfaces, fluid silhouettes and hand-built forms inspired by ancient Greek ceramics. Created using slow, labour-intensive techniques such as coiling, pinching and slab building, her pieces range from functional vessels and porcelain jewellery to expressive sculptural works. Notable collections include Waves, which explores the sea as a symbol of both separation and connection, and Flow, a series of intricately carved forms that trace the personal rhythms, emotions and journeys that shape human experience. Working from a restored stone house studio overlooking the Aegean, Tzanni Goldson transforms clay into contemporary objects that capture the quiet beauty and ever-changing character of island life.
