Dashing Architects transform Athens building into four characterful short-stay apartments

Dashing Architects has completed Noemia, a collection of four short-stay apartments in central Athens that draws on the history of the ancient Kallirroi Spring. Located near Kallirrois Avenue, the project takes cues from the ideas of flow, gathering and movement that once defined the historic water source. Set within an existing building, each apartment has its own character, shaped by the different proportions and conditions of the original floor plans. At the same time, a shared palette of colours, materials and artworks ties the spaces together. Deep blue, ochre and burgundy tones reference the painted surfaces of ancient Greek architecture, while herringbone parquet, glass blocks and textured glazing reinterpret familiar elements found in Athens’ apartment buildings. Sculptural showers and bespoke artworks add moments of surprise throughout the interiors. The project is crowned by a rooftop garden overlooking the Acropolis and the city’s hills, offering guests a quiet escape above the busy streets below.
