Founded in Athens in 2022, Thiswasasheet.com rethinks what happens to hotel textiles at the end of their first life. Rather than discarding worn sheets and towels, the studio collects and transforms them into uniforms and hotel amenities, offering an alternative to the waste-heavy cycles of the hospitality industry. The approach is deliberately simple: reuse what already exists, and redesign it with care. The repurposed textiles are combined with natural materials including linen, cotton and coconut fiber, resulting in pieces that are both durable and understated. Hotels are invited to mix and match items, creating customized uniforms and amenities that align with their own visual identity and values. Production takes place in an open workshop in Athens, where clients are encouraged to visit and observe the process. A young, design-driven team works alongside experienced makers, pairing contemporary thinking with long-established textile expertise. So far, more than 20,000 towels and 4,500 sheets have been diverted from waste streams. In giving these materials a second life, Thiswasasheet positions reuse not as a compromise, but as a design choice—one rooted in responsibility, longevity and quiet consistency.
