Luminous Design Group created a line of packaging for Kolionasios traditional baklava โ a sweet pastry that dates back to the Ottoman cuisine – which highlights the companyโs Greek origin and subsequently of its product, with a contemporary approach. The designers aimed at promoting the traditional handmade production process and the purity of the Greek raw materials used while emphasis was also put on the experience and the tradition of this family business from Ioannina, who have been manufacturing baklava for more than three generations.ย Luminous Designโs intention was to create a specially treated packaging that would attract the consumerโs attention. They chose to paint the metal boxes all-white, creating in this way a strong contrast with the use of black in the illustrations and typography. The horizontal typography includes a brief history of the brand, with a limited use of gold color, while thematic illustrations with references have also been employed to meet the aforementioned objectives.
