Drawing inspiration from Santorini’s architectural history and pure geometric forms, NOŪS reflects the traditional housing that characterizes the Greek island. The world-famous murals found in the archaeological site of Akrotiri define the color palette of the resort, with earthy, terracotta shades and vibrant warm colors used in all the rooms and common areas. The traditional “kouloura” -the sui generis way of knitting the vines that is typical on the island- has become an interesting decoration feature in a modern way. The resort features an extensive collection of works of art by twelve contemporary Greek artists, with the regenerative but also destructive nature of volcanoes being the inspiration behind the collection, while a series of modern design pieces made by designers such as Doshi & Levien, Konstantin Grcic, Faye Toogood, etc. are found in all areas. Their timeless character complements the naturally minimalist style of the Aegean Sea, creating a modern temple of well-being.
A total of 121 rooms, most of which open onto private terraces with pools, are designed to feel spacious and comfortable, while some of them feature their own large private gardens, aiming to create green, cool oases. Rich flavors of raw materials combined with original cooking techniques of the local community become the main inspiration point for the chefs of NOŪS. Acknowledging the rising global interest in Santorini vineyard, the resort gives its guests the opportunity to get acquainted with the local wine produce by taking part in wine tastings that are held in the special area of Oenous. An exceptional spa with five treatment rooms, indoor and outdoor pools, a sauna, steam bath, cold tank, gym, and a special outdoor yoga area is available within the resort’s premises. The resort opened its doors in July 2022 in Messaria and is operated by Yes! Hotels, the contemporary brand of Donkey Hotels & Resorts Hospitality Group. NOŪS is a member of Design Hotels.
