A traditional fisherman’s dwelling in the historic core of Parikia has been converted into two independent holiday apartments, each with spacious terraces facing the Aegean and the bay’s sweeping sunsets. Designed through a lens of Cycladic minimalism with subtle Northern European influences, the project balances heritage preservation with a calm, contemporary aesthetic. Local and international craftsmen contributed handmade structural details and bespoke furnishings, echoing traditional island construction while elevating it through refined simplicity. Inspired by the quiet rhythm of a fisherman’s life, the interiors favour natural materials, soft transitions and understated luxury. The renovation sits gently within Parikia’s protected fabric and has been widely praised for respecting the area’s character while introducing a discreet sense of modern comfort. The project was developed by a young hospitality team behind the Retreat Paros brand, known for design-led stays and a focus on thoughtful guest experience.
