Theo Kontaxis is an architect and multidisciplinary designer, who experiments with various aspects of art & design, creating different projects and artworks. His works span from interior design, identity design & branding, custom web and graphic design to woodcuts, wallcuts and custom artworks.
“The ‘Cuts’ series started accidentally with a hunting knife I was given as a gift and when creativity exceeded boredom in a single moment, I started carving my desk, which eventually became the first woodcut after about 2 years. After that I continued making more woodcuts trying different tools until I had more control over this. Lately these woodcuts have evolved to wallcuts and doorcuts and more with different tools and techniques. The principle of subtracting to create is always the same.”
