Fluo architecture & design studio turns typical 70s apartment into modern living space in Pagrati, Athens

Fluo architecture & design studio has renovated a typical 70s apartment in Pagrati, Athens, creating a homogeneous and timeless atmosphere. The original plan has been totally altered, the old flooring was restored and the spaces were unified. As the structural elements were maintained exposed, a contemporary minimalistic kitchen was designed to prevail in the space, both in color and shape. The architects chose to fill the kitchen and living room with a series of colorful accents and a custom terrazzo floor with black cobbles was created for the kitchen from scratch. A base of white cement is perfectly combined with the old green Tinos marble of the living room, while the rest of the space follows the same concept with alternations between green and red burgundy. The old doors were reused, as well as the old marble sink of the previous main bathroom, while plenty of storage spaces were created for ultimate functionality. The large terrace serves as a connection between interior and the exterior, offering a connection with the urban landscape through large openings. The house balances between past and future in an open dialogue with Kallimarmaro, and the hip neighborhood of Pagrati.
