Born on the island of Crete and shaped by both Greek earth and Italian artistry, Nonna Lietta is the creation of designer Lietta Kasimati. Rooted in the weaving and knitting traditions of Greece, Nonna Lietta reinterprets the familiar textures of childhood into elegant, modern knitwear. Each piece reflects a dialogue between memory and modernity: the softness of handspun wool, the calm rhythm of traditional looms, and the refined simplicity of contemporary design. Since 2018, the Athens-based label has championed local production and ecological integrity. Kasimati works closely with Greek suppliers, sourcing pure, unprocessed wool and cotton from the country’s northern and central regions. The result is a collection that feels timeless yet forward-looking — a gentle expression of care, connection, and respect for the people and places behind each thread.
